The Short and Sweet

Feeling scared is very normal but when it starts affecting your ability to celebrate hard-earned milestones, it's time to turn it around.

4 tips to lift up your self-esteem

  1. Accept that it's ok to feel scared. Being scared doesn't make you weak.

  2. Surround yourself with people you love, who love you and can tolerate hearing about your fears. You deserve to be supported through this.

  3. Know what you know and what you don't know. Talk to your doctor about all of the details regarding your pregnancy complications and prognosis so your mind doens't create scary stories to fill in the gaps.

  4. Find ways to regain control. A high-risk preganancy makes you feel helpless and thus makes you feel even more scared than you already are. Finding ways to exert your control on a day to day level can help alleviate some of the helplessness and fear.
